MECHANICAL VENTILATION HEAT RECOVERY (MVHR)
A Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR) system is an advanced ventilation solution designed to provide fresh, clean air while maximising energy efficiency in residential and commercial buildings.
BENEFITS
Improved Indoor Air Quality
MVHR systems can recover up to 95% of heat from extracted air while filtering out pollutants, allergens, and airborne particles, leading to a significant improvement in indoor air quality.
Energy Efficiency
By recovering and reusing heat from extracted air, MVHR systems can reduce heating energy consumption by up to 50%, resulting in substantial energy savings.
Cost Savings
On average, households can save approximately €250 to €400 per year on heating costs by installing an MVHR system.
Consistent Comfort
MVHR systems help maintain a comfortable indoor temperature by evenly distributing pre-heated fresh air throughout the building, eliminating cold spots and ensuring consistent warmth.
Noise Reduction
Modern MVHR systems are designed to operate quietly, providing a peaceful indoor environment without disruptive noise from ventilation fans or external sources.
Carbon Emissions Reduction
By reducing heating energy demand, MVHR systems contribute to lowering carbon emissions associated with residential and commercial buildings, supporting environmental sustainability efforts.
Moisture Control
By effectively managing indoor humidity levels, MVHR systems reduce the risk of condensation buildup on windows and walls, minimising the potential for mould growth and associated health issues.
Long-Term Investment
With an average lifespan of 15 to 20 years, MVHR systems offer long-term benefits, providing consistent energy savings and maintaining indoor air quality over their operational lifespan.

HOW IT WORKS?
Extraction of Air: MVHR removes stale air from inside the building, extracting pollutants, moisture, and odours.
Heat Recovery: As the extracted air is expelled from the building, the heat exchanger in MVHR recovers heat from this air and transfers it to the fresh, filtered air being brought into the building.
Introducing Fresh Air: Fresh, filtered air is then introduced into the building, providing healthy living conditions for occupants.
